SURCOAT
SILICONE BASED WATER REPELLENT COATING

SURCOAT is supplied as a ready-to-use silicone resin solution which, when applied, creates a highly water repellent surface.

USES
SURCOAT is applied on a siliceous / mineral surfaces specially exterior building brickwork, concrete, cement/sand renderings, plastering, natural or cast stone. It reduces the phenomenon of efflorescence due to soluble salts in brickwork.

FEATURES ·
Ready-to-use by brush of spray directly from container.
Most effective on any siliceous surfaces old or new.
Inhibits dampness of walls due to capillary action.
Self-cleaning reduces unsightly staining, unaffected by salt laden atmosphere.
Reduces risks of efflorescence, lime erosion, rust staining, dirt collection, formation of mild dew, moss and lichen and frost spalling.
Protects concrete from aggressive action of de-icing salts.
Environment friendly non-inflammable.

METHOD OF APPLICATION Surface Preparation The surfaces should be preferably dry although dampness is not detrimental, but the surfaces may be free from oil, grease, loose particles, decayed matter, moss or algae growth.Joints in brickwork must be sound, if not, they should be invariably re-pointed with cement/sand mortar by using our ACRO-1 or WATERSEAL or ACROPLASTER M (Details on these products are available from ACRO). Be very careful about spillage of SURCOAT liquid on window glasses, as they may be stained permanently.

PROPERTIES
Surcoat is a clear liquid.
Specific Gravity at 270 C = 0.98 + 0.02

Water Resistance :
Repels rain and inhibits ingress of surface water, provided there is no hydrostatic pressure.

Surcoat provides high impermeability against penetration of water, salt solution, and dust or soot particles.

It arrests leaching of soluble salts from brickwork, which causes efflorescence, absorption of de-icing salts by concrete, which causes degradation.

Surcoat silicone coating allows the building surfaces to breathe.

Coverage / Consumption :
3 to 8 m2 per litre depending on the porosity of the substrate.

Application :
Generally single coat will do but for highly porous surfaces, second coat may be
provided by brush or spray.

Cleaning :
Brush; equipment may be cleaned with water.

Packaging :
In 5 lt. 30 lt.

Shelf Life :
12 months in unopened container.

Health & Safety :
Non-inflammable store in cool place.
