PARCOCEM PLUS
Waterproof Cement Paint

SUPER PARCOCEM is specially formulated cement paint that protects & beautifies the surfaces of Interiors & exteriors. It provides a hard, durable, waterproof surface, which resists the damp penetration. It is produced with super white cement and various additives including water repellents & pigments. Super Parcocem gives building surfaces a new look & protects it from weather & corrosive forces of air pollution.

SPECIAL FEATURES
1 Super Parcocem is available in superfine powder form and is based on world class Birla White Cement.

2 Super Parcocem is manufactured with light fast pigments, water repellent chemicals and high performance additives to provide perfect setting and greater coverage.

3 Super Parcocem provides a hygienic, durable, hard & water repellent surface which resists damp penetration & unfavourable weather conditions.

4 Super Parcocem has rich cement content and therefore is more durable. It also contains permissible biocides to resist algal & fungal growth.

5 Super Parcocem can be applied easily by brush or spray on all types of exteriors of the buildings.

6 Super Parcocem is available in 34 eye pleasing shades besides super white.

7 Super Parcocem has a better pot life, hence more paint can be prepared at a time, which prevents shade variation due to over dilution & number of mixes.

8 Super Parcocem does not rub, flake or peel off and can be easily washed when applied as per instructions.

9 Super Parcocem can be used as a base coat on new surfaces before application of ACROTEX Sand Textured Matt finish / ACROGUARD Premium 100% Acrylic Exeterior Emulsion.

10 Super Parcocem does not contain any toxic or inflammable materials. Hence, It is an environment friendly product.

11 Super Parcocem confirms to IS:5410 & is I.S.I. marked.

SUITABLE SURFACES FOR PARCOCEM
Super Parcocem can be applied on the surfaces like cement sand renderings, cement/lime/sand renderings, bricks works, rough cast, pebble dash, concrete bricks/blocks, precast concrete and asbestos sheets etc.

SURFACE PREPARATION
The surface to be painted should be cleaned to remove any loose dust, dirt, lichen, algae, fungus or any other organic growth by use of a stiff wire brush. Wash the surface well and allow the water to dry.

Any faults in the structure particularly those that may lead to moisture penetration should be rectified / repaired with cement sand mortar. All surfaces must be sound clean and suitably dry at the time of application. This is particularly important where new buildings are concerned. On new surfaces, wetting down with potable/clean water should control the suction of absorbent backing.

All cracks, voids and minor damages should be patched prior to application. For additional anti-fungus treatment, effective stabilized household bleach such as calcium hypo chloride with approx. 35% chlorine content can be used (recommended ratio 4-5% in water). After cleaning down thoroughly to remove as much growth as possible, apply the bleach. Brush it well. Leave for 24 hours. Wash clean with water and allow it to dry.

In case of appearance of efflorescence (white salt patches generally called shora) on the freshly plastered walls, apply on the affected surface 8-10% solution of Hydrochloric Acid in water with a paint brush. Leave it for 5-10 minutes or when bubbling stops. Wash down liberally with water.

MIXING
Roll or shake the bag to loosen the contents.
a) Take one volume of water in a clean container.
b) Add two volumes of Super Parcocem.
c) Stir well with a thick wooden stick or with hand to get a thick creamy paste.
d) Add another volume of water to get brushable consistency.
e) The paint thus prepared should be applied within 90 minutes.
f) Do not keep the dry paint exposed to atmosphere and keep the mouth of the bag tightly sealed, when not in use.

APPLICATION
Apply the well-mixed Super Parcocem with a good quality brush. The first coat should be well brushed into the surface to form a good bond. Apply the second coat after an interval of 10-12 hrs after curing & setting of the first coat. The surface should be wetted thoroughly with water spray 10-12 hrs after the application of the second coat. Generally two coats are required.

CURING
Each application should be wetted after at least 8-10 hrs. with a fine water spray depending upon climatic conditions. Curing should be done with clean tap water from downward to upward direction. Properly cured cement paint forms an integral part of the surface by forming a strong bond with it and continues to harden day by day. To ensure proper setting of Parcocem after the second coat, spray clean water on the painted surface twice a day in hot dry weather for at least 2-3 days.

COVERING CAPACITY (Approx.)
(in two coat brush application)
It varies according to porosity and texture of the surface when mixed to normal brushable consistency. We give below approximate covering capacity on various surfaces, when mixed to normal consistency:
Sq. mtr. / kg.
1. Suitable bricks 1.90 – 3.30
2. Cement / sand renderings 2.30 – 3.30
3. In Situ concrete 3.30 – 4.40
4. Asbestos wall & Fibre boards 2.80 – 4.40
5. Rough cast & Pebble dash 1.20 – 1.80
6. Concrete Bricks/Block 1.90 – 2.10

THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS ENSURE GOOD PRODUCT PERFORMANCE
1. Proper pre-wetting and curing should be carried out and the technical literature should be strictly followed.
2. When humidity is low, extra curing should be given.
3. If the surface to be painted is extra smooth or friable then a coat of cement primer (Primer for cement paint) should be applied.
4. After mixing with water, the cement paint should be applied within 90 minutes.
5. The use of white cement or any other local cement paint as a base coat is not recommended.
6. Newly plastered walls must be given at least 8-12 weeks to enable the plaster to achieve dryness and proper setting. It should be free from efflorescence (saltpetre) at the time of application of cement paint.
7. Any structural faults which may lead to penetration of moisture must be rectified before painting.
8. Only POTABLE / SOFT water should be used for preparation of paint and curing of surface. SALINE / GROUND / HARD water should not be used as that would result in the formation of white patches / salt deposits on the painted surface, this is called EFFLORESCENCE.
9. Super Parcocem should not be applied on the surfaces painted with lime, oil paint and other glossy surfaces. Such surfaces must be scrapped and cleaned properly and a coat of Acroprime cement primer (primer for cement paint) should be used before application of Super Parcocem. When applied on cement primer, no pre-wetting is required for the 1st coat of Parcocem. However, normal curing after first and the second coat should be carried out.
10. Avoid application of Super Parcocem in strong and direct sun, rain or frost as this is liable to create difficulties in setting and sometimes may leave brush marks, patchee colour appearance on the surface.
11. Over dilution and under dilution of the paint should be avoided as doing so may result in shade variation. In former case and low coverage or flaking in the later case.
12. Super Parcocem is available in powder form ready to use. No intermixing of shades or addition of other additives should be done as it affects the properties.
13. Store Super Parcocem packing in a dry place and properly tied up. It may deteriorate on catching moisture from air, if left open.
14. Use of dark shades such as Golden Brown, Terracotta should be applied on rough plaster & brick work and are not recommended over large unrelieved areas specially those exposed to rain and wind, as there is likely-hood of appearance of efflorescence in dark shades. Blue & Green shades are liable to fleet and are recommended only for interiors and small areas.

PACKING
Super Parcocem is supplied in 25 kg. and 5 kg. jute bag.

STORAGE
The bags should be kept airtight in dry place.
