ACROPRIME
POLYMER BASED LIQUID HIGH PERFORMANCE CEMENT PRIMER
(BASE COAT FOR CEMENT PAINT)
ACROPRIME is a superior polymer emulsion based liquid Cement Primer primarily used for cement paint for both interior as well as exterior applications. It is used for priming of plastered walls, asbestos, concrete, brickworks, etc.

USES
Following areas where uses of ACROPRIME are strongly recommended :
Old surfaces painted with cement paint or having lime wash.
Flaky and/or powdery surfaces.
Very porous substrates surfaces where adequate pre-wetting is difficult.
Very smooth surfaces where water absorption is very less.

FEATURES
ACROPRIME Cement Primer
Is a primer for SUPER ACROCEM and PARCOCEM
Provides better adhesion to the difficult substrates and newly applied cement paint coatings.
Increases water resistance.
Reduces lime migration and salt petre action.
Increases life of the paint film.
Low viscosity ensures easy application by brush/ spray/ roller and deeper penetration.

PROPERTIES
Form :pH Value :Coverage :Drying time at 270C and 65% relative humidity Recommended Time gap between prime and finish coat White colour liquid7 – 9
a) 2-4 sq.m per coat for very porous substrate surfaces.
b) 10-12 sq.m per coat for smooth or painted surfaces. 4 hours6-10 hours depending on atmospheric conditions.

APPLICATION
Surface PreparationAll surfaces must be sound clean and free from any oils, grease, loose/powdery paint, efflorescence, algae, lichen etc. Algae fungi can be removed by washing the surface with diluted calcium hypochlorite (house hold bleach) with approx. 35% chlorine content (recommended proportion 4 - 5 % in water). After application of hypo solution, wait for 24 hours and wash with potable water jet. Scrub the surface to remove stains. Efflorescence may be removed preferably by acid etching with a 10% solution of Hydrochloric (Muriatic) acid and water. After bubbling ceases, scrubbing, with stiff broom at the same time. Do not allow etching solution to dry before rinsing. Holes, cracks and friable areas must be patched with 1:3 cement-sand mortars. Use diluted ACROPRIME (1:1 with water) as mixing water.

METHOD OF USE
ACROPRIME is supplied as ready to use product. However, for most porous surfaces, ACROPRIME can be diluted with water up to an equal measure of ACROPRIME. Apply this diluted or undiluted product over the cleaned and prepared surfaces as a priming coat. Apply two coats of SUPER ACROCEM or PARCOCEM within 6-8 hours after the application of primer. This method will minimise the risk of paint failure. The first coat of cement paint can be applied directly on to the priming coat of ACROPRIME without pre-wetting the surface. The first coat of cement paint shall be well cured using water before application of the second and final coat of cement paint.

PRECAUTIONS
ACROPRIME Cement Primer
Should be stirred well before use.
Should be protected from frost during transit, storage and on site.
In view of its exceptional adhesive properties, ACROPRIME should on no account be emptied into drains.
Should not be applied to surface previously treated with oil or bituminous paints, varnishes or oil bound distempers.
Should not be applied when the temperature is likely to fall below 5 degrees C)
