ACROPOXY DP

WATER BASED EPOXY SEALER MEMBRANE FOR DAMP PROOFING

A two part, chemically cured, water based epoxy sealer membrane for most porous building components.

USES
For curing, seepage and dampness problems on interior or exterior surfaces of basements, tunnels, lift wells, retaining walls, floors, below grade car parks, etc. Excellent on fresh concrete after it has hardened and is ideal as waterproof membrane on concrete floor slabs under carpets and other floor coverings.

FEATURES
Cured membrane will withstand approx. 2.5 kg/cm2 hydrostatic pressure or equivalent to around a 25 metres head of water.
Can be applied onto damp surfaces.
Does not impair bond of subsequent adhesives or paints.
May be tinted with universal paint tinters.
Non-flammable, odourless and low toxicity.
Can be applied to interior or exterior surfaces.

COLOURS
White/Grey. Other colour may be available on request.

PERFORMANCE
Adhesion – Excellent to correctly prepared surfaces such as brick, concrete block, masonry, concrete and asbestos cement. Also to galvanized steel and timber.

Gloss - Semi-gloss

Hydrostatic Pressure – With withstand up to approx. 2.5 kg./cm2 or 25 metre head of water.
Over painting – May be over painted with most decorative paints.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Surface Penetration
All surfaces must be structurally sound and all previous coatings shall be removed by chipping, power wire brush, sand –blasting or other suitable methods. Any efflorescence and laitance must be removed also preferably by acid etching with a 10% solution of Hydrochloric (Muriatic) acid and water. After bubbling ceases scrubbing with stiff broom at the same time. Do not allow etching solution to dry before rinsing.
Holes, cracks and friable areas must be patched with a mortar prepared from 1 part cement 2 parts fine, washed sand and 1 part ACROPOXY – DP. Allow to dry for 3-4 hours at 25°C. Free flowing leaks can be sealed using ACRO-2.
Very dry and porous surfaces should be soaked with a fine mist water spray before application of ACROPOXY – DP for better results.

MIXING
Stir both parts separately to overcome settlement, which may have occurred; ensuring the stirrer is cleaned before using for the second part. Pour equal weight of Part A and Part B into a clean container. Mix with a slow speed power drill fitted with a stirrer or manually for at least 3 minutes. After mixing leave it for 5 to 10 minutes to release entrapped air. Do not mix more than 2 litres of material at a time that can be applied in 30 minutes at 25°C

APPLICATION
Apply by long nap roller or stiff nylon brush taking care to work ACROPOXY - DP in different directions to avoid pin holing. Allow to cure for approximately 72 hours at the rate of 25°c / 50% R.H. before applying any decorative overcoats. At least 2 coats are recommended, more coats are required to get more water tightness of the film.

THINNING
Generally thinning is not recommended; however it is possible to add up to 1 part water to10 - 20 parts of total ACROPOXY - DP at the time of mixing. Mix water and mixed ACROPOXY - DP thoroughly. Do not add extra water when the mixed material is approaching to thickening.

CLEANING
Wash all equipment with water/ detergent solution before product cures.

PACKAGING
‘ACROPOXY - DP ’ is available in 1kg and 50 (pack – A and Pack – B) kg kits.
