APPLICATION
Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be sound clean and free from any oils, grease, paint, bitumen or other surface contaminants and efflorescence. If the surface is treated previously with a water-repellent. ACROCOTE will not develop any bonding property. Under such situation, through grit blasting/scrabbling is required, or otherwise, all loose or defective materials should be removed by chipping or needle gunning. Concrete surfaces should be free from laitance/dirt or any loose materials. Prepare stiff paste of ACROCOTE (Use 10% less of component A) to repair the defective areas like cracks, cavities, and blowholes. Any leakage should be sealed with ACRO-3 before coating with ACROCOTE slurry.
Mixing
Mix full quantity of pack B with full quantity of pack A or mix in a ratio of 1:3 by weight (A:B) for smaller quantities in a bucket. Continue mixing until smooth slurry results. Use such slurry within 20 to 30 minutes.
METHODS OF USE
For Damp Wall, Basement
All surfaces where ACROCOTE shall be used, should be dampened well by spraying/sprinkling of water over them. The first coat of ACROCOTE should be applied on such dampened surfaces using fiber brush. If the surface dries during application or otherwise, re-dampen it. The second coat of ACROCOTE shall be applied when the first coat has hardened reasonably (no nail impression within 4 to 7 hour). For any subsequent coat, the previous coat should be allowed to harden upto maximum 24 hours. Protect the freshly applied coat form rain water or water splashes. Protect the freshly applied surface from direct sunlight for at least 6 – 8 hours.
For Exposed Roof
All surfaces where ACROCOTE shall be used, should be cleaned, sound and free from oil, grease, paint, bitumen or other surface contaminants. The surface should be then dampened well with clean potable water on which the first coat of ACROCOTE is applied using soft fibre brush. The fibre mesh supplied by the company, is then uniformly spread on the freshly applied first coat. The second coat shall then be applied over the first coat after 6 – 8 hours later than the application of previous coat. It is further advisable that whenever the exposed surface is subjected to traffic movement, 15 – 25 mm plaster (1:4 cement sand) using ACROPLASTER M shall laid on the second coat to protect the ACROCOTE coating.
All floor / wall joints or pot holes should be covered with our polymer modified mortar before treating the areas with our ACROCOTE. For Spray application of ACROCOTE slurry, please consult our Technical team.
Normal curing as done for other cementitious materials using damp Hessian cloth or membrane forming curing compound is essential.
Soft slurry form tools and equipments may be cleaned with water but the hardened material may be removed mechanically.
COVERAGE
1 kg. of ACROCOTE mixed pack A &B will provide a coverage of 4 to 6 sq.ft. in two coats of application or 4 kg mixed material will provide a coverage between 1.5 m2 to 2.5 m2.
PACKING
Available in two pack system: 1 kg 4 kg and 20 kg. in pre-measured quantities of pack A & B.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Non-inflammable and non-hazardous.
